A small atlas of a living model

FlowRat is an open simulation of navigation, memory, behaviour, and neural dynamics. This field guide is written in plain English for curious humans and future contributors.

Environment

Shape arenas, cues, food, water, and nests. Every wall is both a place to navigate and a signal to the model.

Neural circuits

Place, grid, head-direction, velocity, and boundary populations share one live simulation and one honest visual vocabulary.

Observation

Inspect rates, trajectories, attractors, and behaviour while the rats move. Record the same state as CSV for later study.

Extend the experiment

Register a parameter with FlowRat.registerParameter({name, value, min, max}), listen for changes, and connect your own controls or analysis to the canvas.
