CMAKE_PARITY.md is the honest version: a tiered feature plan with a status column marking each concept as partial, missing, or done, and an explicit list of what to avoid building before the core target model is solid. Read it before betting a project on Zaza.

The short summary of that document: executable and library targets, install and export, dependency fetching with a verified lock, custom commands, transitive usage requirements, object and interface libraries, find_package in both directions, add_subdirectory for CMake and Zaza subtrees, target link options, generator expressions, and unity builds all work today and have examples. The concrete feature-mapping table has no partial rows left. What remains is the Tier 2/3 polish: precompiled headers, ccache integration, alias targets, compile_commands.json import, and editor tooling.
